THE WOODLANDS FARMHOUSE

Welcome

Welcome

Nestled in the rolling countryside of the Welsh Borders, our boutique bed and breakfast combines contemporary style with rural charm. We pride ourselves on our warm, friendly service and the relaxed, informal experience which we provide for our guests.
Our six individually designed, en-suite rooms are the perfect choice for those seeking a tranquil break in beautiful surroundings.

The Woodlands is perfectly situated for exploring the hidden beauty of Shropshire, Cheshire and the Welsh borders. You will find everything from wild hilltops to picturesque villages and grand estates.

Our full farmhouse breakfast will ensure you are ready for the day – we source local sausages, bacon and free range eggs and offer fresh seasonal fruits, a range of juices and cereals and fresh filter coffee.

Your Stay

Your Stay

We do our utmost to make your stay with us enjoyable. Whether you need help to plan your days, a packed lunch to take with you or help finding the best places to eat in the evenings, you only need to ask.
If you would like to use the guest kitchen to prepare your own food, if you need an interconnecting door between bedrooms for family members, babysitting services, a cot or a disabled friendly wetroom, we’re here to help.

Our Welsh farmhouse breakfast will set you up for the day,  but if you’ve built up an appetite exploring the local area  we can offer you a homemade afternoon tea in the guest sitting room. Complimentary biscuits and fresh flowers in your room and a bottle of wine to order all serve to make your stay at The Woodlands all the more special.

The Farm

Set in a hundred acres of beautiful countryside, our farm is the perfect place for a peaceful break away from it all. Take a gentle stroll around the lanes or explore by bike. There are circular routes ranging from 3 miles  to 5 miles or much further afield. There is a pub a mile and a half away where you can rest and refuel if needed.
We offer outside space for children to play and we have our very own calves, pony, chickens and cats to see whilst out and about. There’s even a chance to help feed the animals. The farm is teeming with wildlife ranging from foxes and badgers to owls and bats so it’s great for nature walks with children.

The Woodlands lies just on the Welsh side of the border, but the brook on the adjoining farm takes you over the border into Cheshire and the county of Shropshire is only a few miles away. If you love the great outdoors you have the Clywdian Range, Offa’s Dyke, the Ceiriog Valley and the Coed Llandegla forest to explore. If you prefer a cultural day out you’ll be spoilt for choice. We’ve put together a taster of days out close to the farm and within an hour’s drive – click Explore to find out more.
